Deciding on a Lifestyle Change

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I finally decided to follow an exercise regimen because I want to be healthy and strong even in my 40s. I think this will keep my body strong even as I age. I want to be able to manage my health well into my 40s and 50s and I really want to be in good health away from high blood, hypertension, diabetes and other related diseases. I would really like to stay away from cancer too.

The exercise regimen is one of the lifestyle changes and I find it difficult to maintain without the support of my family and friends.

The Need to Take Care of Health

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Taking care of one’s health is not really a difficult task to do. I think it is just a matter of having discipline to do this daily task. Many people often realize the importance of having good health after they are afflicted with a fatal disease where cure is not readily available.

I often forget to include my health within the list of priorities during my youth. Now that I am in my late 30s I realized that I am in bad shape and I’m suffering hypertension. I had to make huge lifestyle changes and I had to spend a lot for the medication.

Growing Old and Happy

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I like to grow old happy and wise. Perhaps my beauty will not make it through my old age, but I wish that I would grow more in wisdom and have a great health. I think it is wonderful to see great grandchildren in my old age – I really wish that I would not succumb to Alzheimer’s disease – which is known to be curable by expensive stem cell technology.

To be alive and strong in my old age, I always make sure that I am in good health at this time. Exercise, diet and occasional fasting are things that are beneficial to my body.

Back to Society

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

I really wish that I had taken cared of my health in the first place. I neglected it – I allowed myself to get deep into drug abuse where my body suffered. I got into a drug rehab center through and I was recovering well. But the some of the damage that the drug had done to my health was something that I had to endure in a lifetime.

I was just glad that my life is spared and I am back to pick up the bits and pieces of my shattered life. I am still dreaming of a better life, and I think I am slowly getting back to being a productive person in the society.

Getting Stressed From Work

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

I suffered so much stress from work during the previous year. I was assigned to a job that has a lot of responsibility and work to do. I did not do me good because I often find myself working long hours after work. Although that work paid me well, it was so stressful. I started suffering high blood and bouts of headache. Sometimes I could not report to work and just decide to take the day off. Stress really bit me off work and it does not do well to my health. I think the extra compensation that I get after work would probably be spent for my treatment.

Stress is Related to Health

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Stress is one thing that I have to manage because it affects health so much. There is so much stress from doing work, and this is often overlooked at the workplace. Probably employees are often expected to be efficient, but the downside of being too efficient is suffering stress-related diseases.

Time management can help, but there are some jobs that are loaded with too much responsibility. I got into one of those jobs and it was quite a challenge. I managed to do my job well, but it affected my health so much. I’m still struggling to create a balance between the my job and my health, so that I do not get to overwhelmed.

Fiber-rich Foods Help Me Get Through

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Fibers help me maintain a good bowel movement each day. It prevents me from suffering ailments related to bowel movement like diarrhea, constipation and stomach ache. I believe that having normal bowels prevent me from getting sick – the human waste is often laden with bacteria that can easily make a person sick.

There are various foods that are made to provide fibers and I always include these in my diet. Some fiber rich foods that I like are oatmeal, cassava and whole wheat bread, which are also often used in body detoxification processes. Enough fiber consumed daily keeps me healthy and feeling better and avoids sickness too.

The Importance of Having a Balanced Diet

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

I take care of my health by making sure that I eat the healthy foods from all the major food groups each day. Exercise is also very important because the physical activity helps keep me from getting fat. Too much from one food group – especially from the “go” food group can keep me feeling lazy and lethargic during the day. I think this is why some diets are designed to reduce carbohydrate or fat intake. A balanced diet from these major food groups keeps up and running during the day coupled with the right exercise regimen that I get each day.
